What does architecture mean to you and what is the challenge you have in terms of housing design?
In our point of view, the role of an architect is to coordinate the dynamic relationships between the building and the environment, to reflect the contemporary needs respecting the context and improving the quality of life of the users.
In every project, we deal with architectural form, the functionality, the empirical aesthetics of space and the relation with the surroundings.
Housing is very important for most people since they have a strong feeling of intimacy.
Therefore, every user has different requirements and needs that make every project a different challenge.
Why were you interested in participating in the Straw Bale Ecological House Contest?
We found very interesting the opportunity to design at this unique site using specific materials that need special treatment.
Moreover, the user and the program’s requirements were very clearly presented.
What advice would you give to architects who are thinking of participating or not in an international housing competiton?
We think that architectural competitions are a good way to enrich your knowledge and your experience in architecture, improving your skills through this process.
